Club Incentives

Club Incentives are paid for the following:

  • For equaling or bettering the times set out in the scheme - R200.00
  • For breaking an existing best club time - R600.00
  • For winning an official road race (Men/Women) - R750.00
  • For finishing 2nd - R500.00
  • For finishing 3rd - R300.00
  • Western Province Colours at Championships (Road Running or Cross Country) - R750.00
  • National Colours at Championships (Road Running or Cross Country) - R1000.00

The onus is on the club member to claim their incentive award. Awards will be made at the club night in the month following the receipt of the official race results for the event.

Club Standard Rules

Rules for Club Standards

The times that are required to qualify for Club Standards Awards are as per the men's and women's tables.

Club Standards Awards are presented annually at the Club Awards Evening which is normally held at the end of each year. Medals are awarded to all runners who meet the required standard times as follows: 

Honours Gold Medal
Colours Silver Medal
Merit Bronze Medal


To qualify for a medal the following criteria must be met by the runner:

  • The qualifying times must be achieved in one calendar year which starts on 1st October and ends on 30th September the following year.
  • With exception of Juniors, one qualifying time must be achieved in three of the available seven distances. For example, 10km, 21.1km and 42.2km.
  • Options for Juniors(Qualifying times for Juniors are the same as for the Seniors Qualifying times are required in the same age category):
    • One qualifying time over 10km and two over 15km
    • Two qualifying times over 10km and one over 15km.
  • Only official recognised road races over the 7 distances that are specified in the tables will be eligible.
  • If a runner competes in a race that falls outside the WP and Boland areas, the onus is on the runner to provide proof of participation if the race is to be considered for qualification.
  • Only official results from the race organisers will be accepted.
  • In the event of a dispute, the decision of the committee will be final.
